Powder brows in Amsterdam

Powder brows are a machine technique of permanent makeup: thousands of pigment dots build a soft, powdered gradient, denser at the tail, lighter at the head — the effect of brows filled with a shadow, not drawn with a pencil. Unlike microblading, no cuts are made, which is why the technique suits oily skin, where hairstrokes tend to blur into each other within a year. Fresh brows look dark and sharp; that is not the result. They lighten by thirty to fifty percent while healing, and the honest verdict is only visible after the touch-up, four to eight weeks later. The pigment softens gradually and usually asks for a refresh after one and a half to two years.

Judge an artist by healed results, not fresh ones: ask specifically for photos taken a month or more after the touch-up, ideally of clients your age and skin type. The mapping stage is where the shape is decided — you approve the drawn outline in the mirror before the machine turns on, and nothing should proceed until you actually like it. Healing takes about a week of light scabbing: no soaking, no sauna, no gym sweat, no makeup on the area, and no picking — a scab that comes off early takes pigment with it. Pregnancy, keloid-prone skin and some medications rule the procedure out; a serious artist asks about all of this before taking your deposit.
