I typically use a glass nail file because paperback ones usually fall apart easily, but I decided to try out this one. I will say the grit does wear down quite quickly (this is after two uses, both hands) on the edges, but that is to be expected - the important thing is that it stays rigid, it doesn't start to flop. It does have a slight odor, but some people I asked cannot smell it, so I would say only be wary if you have a sensitive nose. Overall I would buy again.
