Bad customer service when lipstick caused reaction

I paid $16 to ship back defective lipstick. I had used this lipstick before and loved it so I ordered it without reading reviews. This time around, however, the lipstick gave me a horrible reaction with peeling lips and the color looked flat and was drying. Very different experience and I suspected the lipstick wasn’t fresh or they changed the formula without telling customers. I reached out to the company explaining they should pay return shipping if they ship me an item that’s not as described, defective and/ir expired but they ignored me. The reviews are mostly 5-6 years old so I question how fresh the inventory is and just wanted a response and proof it is fresh. The shipping cost came out to about 35% of my total. I will never order from this unprofessional and unethical company again and warn others.
