I have trouble with nail polish chipping really soon after painting my nails, even if I use a good top coat. Gel itself is intimidating, especially needing a lamp to cure it. This felt like it was a good middle ground where I had some of the benefits of it lasting longer, yet didn't need any additional equipment.
