It works however if you are cleaning makeup brushes that have years and years of makeup stuck on then obviously would take more than a dip to clean. However, I clean mine regularly so its does clean easily. I find the tray useful but for bigger brushes I just use a Tupperware. I think for the price it is expensive as you can use it up fairly quickly but if you want clean brushes without the hassle it is worth it. It does finish quite quickly depending how many brushes you have to clean.
