FINALLY - something that *actual* cleans my makeup brushes. My initial thought on opening was that it smelt very strongly of alcohol - so I knew it would kill any bacteria on my brush. I haven't washed some of my brushes (ever) aside from giving them a rinse - soap never washes things out properly, and often the brushes get damaged from the vigorous scrubbing as I clean them. Not with this cleaner. The cleaner comes with a plastic 'dome' over the bottle, as well as a small screw on dish at the bottom. You can dab your brush in the liquid (via the dish) or (for larger brushes) pour it into the dome and swirl it around. Letting it soak for 60 seconds is plenty of time, giving it a swirl, and then rinsing it through some running warm water. I used a little silicone makeup pad to help wash away caked makeup as I was running it under warm water, but to be fair my makeup brush was in quite a bad way. I haven't noticed the quality of the brushes declining, but in terms of time taken to clean my brushes - we're talking 5 minutes rather than 50 (which, honestly, is the reality with other products on the market). My only criticisms of the product are that: (1) it is quite expensive given that you will likely need a fair bit to submerge your brushes (for foundation brushes for example). I used makeup 1/4 or 1/3 of a bottle to submerge 2 of my brushes. (2) The 'QR' code 'instructions' on the product box just take you back to this page and you have to try and find the instructions. You get taken to a video that tells you something in a long-winded way, which could easily be put on the box... it seems like a bit of a waste of time and a mild annoyance.
