This serum does not cause flaking, irritation or redness to my mature (I'm 62) skin. I am using exactly as instructed, and it is performing as described. It leaves a nice glow for the next few days. I use a Retinol product most nights, and this is perfect for me for a break in that regiment once or twice weekly with beautiful results. Maybe a coincidence, but I received a compliment on my skin the next day after very first usage!
