My esthetician recommended this to help get rid of some of the hyperpigmentation on my cheeks. For reference I am in my 20s and have very sensitive skin. I can't speak for the anti-aging claim, but it has not irritated me or broken me out. I wake up every morning with soft, glowing skin. This is also one of the first retinol treatments I have used without irritation. It is a very thick, fairly moisturizing formula which offsets a lot of the drying ingredients.
