I’m in my 40s with sensitive/dehydrated pale skin. I can’t use any fragrance on my face/neck/scalp, whether it’s so called clean or otherwise. So glad this retinol was in my Harrods advent calendar. Not sure I would have tried it otherwise due to the price and because I had given up on retinols/retinoids all together. I just don’t like high maintenance projects that you have to be a scientist to know what It can and cannot mix with. That in addition also gives slow to no results and usually causes irritation, which is what I thought of all retinols I had tried…before this one. But this guy right here is hands down the best active I’ve ever put on my face. What makes it so different for me is it causes no irritation on my skin, including my neck and under eyes. It feels amazing. Hydrating enough that I don’t need to add another layer of moisturizer on top. During these winter months on some days I do add a small pea sized amount of extra moisturizer due to the heater/weather, but it doesn’t actually feel like it needs it on top of this retinol by Augustinus Bader, it’s more me being preventatively cautious. Are the results like surgery…no of course not. No product can replace surgery that I’ve ever tried. But the only product that I’ve seen results like this one gives and so quick, is when I started using a great chemical exfoliate. This retinol evens out my skin tone, makes it incredibly soft, some improvement with lines, big improvement in my skin barrier over all. Hardly get a pimple of any kind anymore. During the holiday sales, bought two more of these so I do not run out! If I could only have one active skincare that wasn’t washing and moisturizer, this one wins.
