I recently had a very bad reaction after using Acnecide face wash and moisturiser containing benzoyl peroxide. After just a few days of use, my skin became extremely dry, sore, and irritated. I also experienced swelling under my eyes, which was quite alarming. The skin around my face felt tight, sensitive, and uncomfortable, almost like a mild chemical burn. What shocked me most was that the product appeared to affect my eyebrow hair, turning parts of it green, which I later found out may be due to the bleaching effect of benzoyl peroxide. I understand that acne treatments can be strong, but I feel the potential side effects and sensitivity reactions are not made clear enough. This experience has been painful and distressing, and it has taken time for my skin to begin recovering. I would strongly advise anyone considering this product to do a patch test first and be very cautious, especially if you have sensitive skin. If you notice any irritation, stop using it immediately.
